Practicing since 2020, orthopedic surgeon Kevin Magone, MD, specializes in shoulder–elbow and sports medicine surgery at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Orthopedics, where he sees patients ranging in age from pediatric to adults. His areas of interest include rotator cuff tears, shoulder dislocations, ACL and meniscus tears; and arthritis of the shoulder, elbow and knee.
Dr. Magone is a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery. “I enjoy orthopedic care due to the patients I see and treat and the challenging procedures we perform,” he said. His approach to care puts the patient in charge, and “I provide information and assist them through their journey back to normal self.”
Dr. Magone is inspired by seeing patients return to normal life. “My favorite part of my job is seeing patients return back to normal life following surgery, injury or nonsurgical treatment,” he said.
He was educated at Ohio State University and Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine. He completed his residency at McLaren-Flint Regional Medical Center and Michigan State University in Flint, Michigan. A fellowship in shoulder-elbow surgery followed at NYU Langone Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City.
In his off hours, he enjoys time with his wife, Ashley, and three children, spending time outdoors, golfing and going to the beach.
