Margit Nemeth, MD

Dr. Margit Nemeth is a board-certified, fellowship-trained cardiologist with extensive expertise in noninvasive cardiology. Born in Mendoza, Argentina, and raised in Houston, Texas, Dr. Nemeth brings a unique and compassionate perspective to patient care. Her clinical interests emphasize disease prevention, valvular heart disease, and congestive heart failure. She currently serves as the Medical Director of Noninvasive Cardiology at St. Luke's Community Medical Center - The Woodlands, where she is dedicated to providing heartfelt care and comprehensive education to all those she serves.

Dr. Nemeth's journey into medicine began with undergraduate training in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, followed by a Master's degree in Cancer Biology from the UT Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Houston. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Returning to Houston, she pursued cardiology fellowship training at the Texas Heart Institute - St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, where her commitment to excellence was recognized with the "CCU Fellow of the Year" honor in 2003.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Nemeth has made significant contributions to medical research, with numerous peer-reviewed publications. Her research spans diverse topics, including cancer biology, cytogenetics, cardiac MRI, and general disease states as they apply to the heart, as well as the optimization of biventricular pacemakers. She strives to ensure her patients receive a clear understanding of their particular disease states, fostering a collaborative approach to their health. She holds certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease, the Board of Nuclear Cardiology (American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC)), and the National Board of Echocardiography (The American Society of Echocardiography).

Dr. Nemeth's care philosophy is deeply rooted in the belief that effective healing comes from a combination of advanced medical knowledge and profound human connection. She is passionate about empowering her patients with the understanding and tools they need to achieve optimal heart health.
