Matthew Lelegren, MD

Growing up in the mountains, Dr. Lelegren enjoyed participating in Boy Scouts, playing club soccer, and performing the violin in the Young Artist Chamber Players Orchestra. After high school, he chose to serve a church service mission for two years in Trujillo, Peru and now speaks fluent Spanish. Upon returning, he met and married his wife Kate, and graduated with Honors in Biochemistry and a minor in Spanish from Brigham Young University.  They moved to Texas with their newborn baby to start at the UT San Antonio School of Medicine where he graduated in the top ten of his class with honors. He then completed a five year residency training program in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia where they welcomed two more children during that time. After residency, Dr. Lelegren pursed an additional year of specialized surgical training in Advanced Rhinology at University of North Carolina. Dr. Lelegren and his family moved from coast to coast in 2024 to practice with Central Coast Otolaryngology and enjoy the palm trees once again. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching soccer, mountain biking, and making his kids practice their scales on the piano. In addition to treating common ENT problems, I specialize in revision sinus surgery and sinonasal tumors.
