Dr. Meera Patel specializes in lung and head and neck cancers including mesothelioma, thyroid cancer, thymoma and thymic carcinoma. She is an Assistant Professor of Hematology and Oncology at the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Patel’s clinical interests include: thoracic and head and neck malignancies; mesothelioma; immunotherapy resistance; and targeted therapies.
Dr. Patel received a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin and an MHSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She received her medical degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center.
Dr. Patel is board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology from the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
