Micha Short, PA-C

A certified physician assistant specializing in cardiology, Micha Short’s areas of interest encompass hypertension, coronary artery disease and heart failure. She has been practicing medicine since 2022, and sees patients ages 18 and older at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Cardiology. Her approach to care begins with understanding the patient's current knowledge of their diagnosis. Short said, “I then provide comprehensive patient education, empowering them to actively participate in their health journey. Ultimately, I prioritize a patient-centered care model, ensuring their individual needs and preferences guide all treatment decisions.” Short, who was named Advanced Practice Practitioner of the Quarter, said she demonstrates humankindness, “by prioritizing patient well-being by fostering empathy and empowering them through comprehensive education.” Short received an undergraduate degree from Western Kentucky University and a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Kentucky. Her interests outside of work include reading fiction and nonfiction, recreational volleyball and travel.
