Philip Ngai, MD

As an ophthalmologist, it is an absolute privilege that my training as an eye surgeon and physician allows me to enhance and preserve the vision of others. It's also such a pleasure to be an integral part of an eye team, Sequoia Eye Group, which has a tremendous legacy of serving the Peninsula area for over 70 years, through four generations of ophthalmologists. My subspecialty training is in glaucoma and cataract surgery, having completed a fellowship at the prestigious UC San Diego Hamilton Glaucoma Center, and ophthalmology residency at the UC Irvine Gavin Herbert Eye Institute. In addition, to my subspeciality, I also provide comprehensive care of the eye, which ranges from simple healthy eye exams and eyeglass prescriptions, to medical and surgical treatment of severe, sometimes debilitating, eye disease. As an eye specialist, I perform a variety of surgeries, but glaucoma and cataract surgery surgeries are among my favorites because of their great impact to save vision and to dramatically improve the quality of life for my patients. I love being a part of a team that truly takes pride in serving patients as if they are family, and a team that constantly strives to deliver the highest quality of care imaginable by utilizing the highest level of training in the most cutting edge medical and surgical techniques.
