Dr. Punam Amin is a colorectal surgeon and Assistant Professor of Surgery - Section of Colorectal Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Amin’s clinical interests include: robotic and minimally invasive surgery; rectal prolapse repair; and colorectal and rectal surgery. Dr. Amin received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Miami and received her medical degree from the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. She completed her residency at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital and a fellowship in clinical outcomes research at the DeWitt Daughtry Family Department of Surgery where she focused on endocrine and pediatric surgery, and received a General Surgery Clinical Science Research award for her work. She also completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Amin is a member of the American Society for Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the Association for Academic Surgery.
