Dr. Pushan Dasgupta is a Neuro-Oncologist and Neurologist. He is an Assistant Professor at the Baylor College of Medicine and practices at the Dan L. Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Dasgupta’s clinical interests include primary brain tumors, leptomeningeal disease, and cancer neurology. He is a graduate of Harvard University where he studied Molecular and Cellular Biology with a secondary field in Mind, Brain, Behavior as an undergraduate. Dr. Dasgupta pursued his medical education through the competitive MSTP (medical scientist training program) and graduated from the MD-PhD program at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center/UT-Health Houston. There his PhD focused on functional genomics in glioblastoma at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center while his MD was earned from The University of Texas McGovern Medical School. Dr. Dasgupta completed his internship and residency in Adult Neurology from the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School and his clinical fellowship in Neuro-Oncology at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Dasgupta also earned graduate certificates from Cornell University in executive healthcare leadership and healthcare change leadership. He has received numerous awards during his training.
Dr. Dasgupta is also a physician-scientist. His research interests span basic science laboratory research to translational and clinical research including clinical trials. Specifically, he is interested in further understanding how genetic alterations/aberrations drive glioma to advance the development and discovery of new treatments.
