Rebecca Gayheart, PA-C

Certified physician assistant Rebecca Gayheart specializes in internal medicine for patients ages 1 and up. A caregiver since 1998, she treats patients at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Express Care. Gayheart said she was naturally drawn to health care and wanted to choose a field where she could make an impact on people. Listening to patients and being as thorough as possible mark Gayheart’s approach to care. “I want to lay down at night knowing I have done everything possible I can do for each patient,” she said. She demonstrates humankindness by treating everyone as if they were family members, and tries to take time to educate patients. Her love for urgent care dates back to her time in the emergency department during training. “I loved being a detective and figuring out what was going on with the patients,” she said. Her favorite part of her job still is seeing patients in an acute setting and “being able to treat, solve and fix the issue at the time of the visit.” Gayheart’s degrees are from the University of Kentucky. In her off hours, she enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with her family.
