With an interest in heart failure, Kraftick began her caregiving career in 1998, and currently treats adults at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Cardiology. Cardiovascular disease and health have always interested her. “So many things revolve around the heart,” she said.
From an early age, Kraftick knew she would work in the medical field, saying, “Medicine chose me.” She believes in providing patient-centered care, treating patients and their families with respect and integrity. “A key part of this is ensuring everyone understands their health conditions and medications so they can be active partners in their health care journey,” she said. In fact, her favorite part of her job is connecting with patients, “who often start feeling like family.”
To Kraftick, listening is essential in humankindness. Besides gathering information, “it's a way to show someone you truly care about what's going on with them,” she said.
Continuing education and professional development are extremely important, Kraftick said. Her career is a testament to that—she graduated from the University of Kentucky Physician Assistant Program, received a master’s degree in physician assistant studies and recently finished her Doctor of Medical Science degree.
