Robert Aertker, MD

Dr. Robert Aertker, a board-certified internist, general cardiologist, and interventional cardiologist, is deeply committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care. With a focus on preventative cardiology and percutaneous treatment of coronary, peripheral vascular, and valvular heart disease, he strives to provide holistic, patient-centered care. Dr. Aertker emphasizes the importance of patient education, empowering individuals to actively participate in their health journey.

Dr. Aertker began practicing medicine after earning his medical degree from the University of Texas at Houston McGovern Medical School, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. He completed his internal medicine residency training at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, and then returned to Texas for fellowships in general and interventional cardiology at The Texas Heart Institute, where he was elected chief cardiology fellow.

During his tenure at The Texas Heart Institute, Dr. Aertker actively participated in research and contributed to advancing the understanding of cardiovascular health. He maintains certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology, reflecting his dedication to lifelong learning and staying at the forefront of medical advancements. Dr. Aertker also believes in collaborating with colleagues and patients to find the best course of action and treatment, truly ensuring that the patient is part of the team.

A native of Katy, Texas, Dr. Aertker's commitment to excellence has been a lifelong pursuit. He is a proud alumnus of Texas A&M University, where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biomedical Sciences and received the esteemed Thomas Gathright Outstanding Academic Scholar Award. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Aertker remains committed to serving the common good and promoting a healthier future for all, inspired by his faith and driven by a deep sense of humankindness.
