Robert Harris, PA-C

Harris has been a certified physician assistant since 2021. He cares for teens and adults at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Orthopedics, where he performs diagnostic ultrasounds and ultrasound-guided steroid injections for shoulders, elbows, hands/wrists, hips, knees and foot/ankles. His approach to care is patient centered. “One of the most important aspects includes listening,” Harris said. “Next, I assess and evaluate. Then as a team, myself and the patient form a plan that is individualized to provide the best outcome.” He expresses humankindness by valuing the concerns of patients and showing compassion, caring for them as he would a family member. “My favorite part of the job is seeing patients at their follow-up appointment and they are no longer experiencing pain,” he said. Harris was inspired to become a caregiver after seeing the daily struggle of his mother and younger brother with type 1 diabetes. His choice of orthopedics as a specialty stems from growing up playing sports, including high school basketball, in which he was injured. Harris received a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Kentucky. Outside of work, he likes to spend time with his wife and daughter.
