Sara Oglesbee, MD

Dr. Oglesbee is a dedicated Family Medicine physician practicing in East Texas, where she was born and raised. She is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care for all ages and health conditions, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology, graduating Summa Cum Laude, from Stephen F. Austin State University. She then pursued her Doctor of Medicine at St. George University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA, and completed her Family Medicine residency at LSU Shreveport. Dr. Oglesbee has been practicing medicine since 2022. She has developed extensive experience in assessment and treatment planning, including diagnostic and therapeutic planning, for a wide array of health issues. She finds deep satisfaction in building long-term relationships with patients and their families, managing diverse health conditions, and playing a vital role in preventative care and health education. Dr. Oglesbee is a proud member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society, reflecting her commitment to humanistic care, empathy, and patient-centered practice. As an elected Chief Resident of the Family Medicine Program from 2024, Dr. Oglesbee has taken on leadership roles, assisting with resident scheduling, evaluations, and serving as a preceptor for medical students. She was also recognized with the Excellence in Inpatient Award in 2024 for outstanding performance during inpatient Family Medicine wards. Her dedication to patient care extends to her philosophy of addressing the full spectrum of her patients' healthcare needs, emphasizing preventative care, chronic disease management, and patient education to promote overall well-being. Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Oglesbee enjoys a variety of hobbies, including hiking, creating art, gardening, and spending time with her dog. She also has a passion for community service, having participated in medical mission trips to Kenya, Africa, and volunteered in programs like "Get Grenada Swimming," teaching swimming to children.
