Seema Jabeen, MD

Dr. Seema Jabeen is a distinguished and board-certified Internist and Obesity Specialist serving the community at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Group in Richmond's Aliana Primary Care. Bringing nearly two decades of profound experience to her role, Dr. Jabeen is deeply committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care for a wide spectrum of adult health conditions. Her expertise encompasses the intricate management of diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, arthritis, and particularly, obesity, reflecting a holistic approach to patient well-being that aligns with CommonSpirit Health’s mission of making God's healing presence known through dedicated service.

Dr. Jabeen earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi, Pakistan. Following her academic achievements, she completed her Internal Medicine residency at Cooper University Hospital, UMDNJ – RWJMS, in Camden, NJ. Her commitment to specialized excellence led to dual board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine (2006, re-certified 2016) and the American Board of Obesity Medicine (2012, re-certified 2022). Further enhancing her expertise, she undertook a Faculty Development Fellowship in Family Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX, and proudly holds the distinction of a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP).

Having served as an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Dr. Jabeen's career has also included leading successful weight management group classes from 2015 to 2018. This experience underscores her belief in empowering patients through education and active participation in their health journey, reflecting CommonSpirit's value of Inclusion. Throughout her career, including roles at EZ HealthCare (as practice owner), Village Primary Care, and Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma, Dr. Jabeen has consistently championed preventive care, wellness visits, and personalized health management, demonstrating unwavering integrity in her approach to patient care.

Beyond her clinical and academic contributions, Dr. Jabeen is a valued member of both the American College of Physicians and the Obesity Medicine Association.
