Senthil Sukumar, MD

Dr. Senthil Sukumar specializes in the care of adults with non-malignant hematologic disorders. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine - Hematology and Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Sukumar’s clinical interests include: benign hematology; thrombotic microangiopathy; thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura; atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome; thrombosis; thrombocytopenia; anemias; and bleeding and clotting disorders. His research interests include: optimizing long-term care and improving outcomes of patients with thrombotic microangiopathies. Dr. Sukumar received his medical degree from University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and a fellowship at The Ohio State University James Comprehensive Cancer Center. He also received a Master of Science degree from The Ohio State University. Dr. Sukumar is board-certified in Hematology and Internal Medicine from American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American Society of Hematology, Hemostasis and Thrombosis Research Society, and the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
