I was born in Virginia, and raised in the mid-west. During the course of my training at Georgetown University, I served as the Chief Resident and subsequently as the Chief Fellow. I moved to the west coast to be closer to my parents. I am married with three beautiful children. My hobbies include tennis, golf, hiking, and cooking. I also believe in community service and try to volunteer in local free clinics and homeless shelter programs. My specific professional interests include clinical research, precision medicine, and multidisciplinary clinical care. I serve on the local board of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, as the Medical Director of Clinical Research for Mercy Medical Group, and as the Chairperson of the Oncology Clinical Council.
I believe that medicine is both a science and an art. The best type of medical care combines the latest scientific knowledge with a patient's preferences. A physician's job is to deliver personalized medical care and bridge the gap between science, culture and expectations. I strive to connect with patients and understand their needs. I also believe that medical care requires a team based approach. I work hard to coordinate care with other physicians. The care I provide is only as good at the nurses, medical assistants, front office staff, and back office staff I work with. Our team focuses on providing great service and compassionate care.
