Shanley B Deal, MD, FACS

Shanley Deal, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) surgery for obesity (bariatric surgery), benign esophageal disorders (reflux disease, paraesophageal hernias, achalasia) and gastrointestinal surgery. She also has a special interest in complex abdominal wall hernias, inguinal hernias and gallbladder surgery.

Dr. Deal practices with a friendly, straightforward style that focuses on educating patients and identifying what matters in their care in order to provide a holistic experience as they navigate surgery. She enjoys the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with her patients while improving their quality of life.

Dr. Deal is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Association of Program Directors in Surgery, Association of Surgical Education, American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

Away from work, Dr. Deal loves spending time with her husband, two children, family and friends. She enjoys running, playing volleyball, hiking, traveling and cooking.
