Sherry L. Thomas, MD

Dr. Thomas is double board certified in OB/GYN and Female Pelvic Medicine & Reproductive Surgery (FPMR&S). She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and subsequently completed a residency in OB/GYN at the MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas in Houston, followed by a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery at Los Angeles' Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She also has a MPH from UCLA. Dr. Thomas spent a decade teaching at UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine, jumping off the tenure track in 2000 to focus on treating patients in private practice and accelerating her ground-breaking research and charitable work. Dr. Thomas is currently leading FDA clinical trials for game-changing stem cell treatments in urinary and fecal incontinence. She also serves as a principal investigator for two of the 522 FDA studies using transvaginal mesh for the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse. For many years Dr. Thomas has taken her commitment to improve women's lives to Africa, where she provided physician training and free obstetric fistula repair surgery through a non-profit foundation she founded.
