Before I went into medicine, I often found myself wanting to do better for people, for the world. I did a lot of soul-searching, but I kept coming back to medicine, and I chose pediatrics because I think pediatricians have a unique opportunity to help kids build a healthy foundation for a healthy life. One of my favorite appointments is with newborn babies and first time parents, because they have a lot of questions. As a pediatrician,I understand how important it is to walk them through what to expect and to reassure them that babies have many different things going on, and that usually it's just a variation on what's normal.I enjoy learning about marine biology, and I used to volunteer at an aquarium when I lived in Southern California. I also studied ballet for about 25 years.
I want to create a very warm, welcoming, inviting appointment so that kids and parents feel like I really spent time with them, focused on their needs. I want them to know that they are my priority.
