Sumeet K. Mendonca, MD

Dr. Sumeet Mendonca joined Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers in January 2012. On completion of her training in Hematology/Medical Oncology at St Elizabeth Medical Center, Tufts University, Boston, Dr. Sumeet Kumar Mendonca joined Desert Oncology Associates in 2008, now part of Ironwood Cancer and Research Centers. Being part of an expatriate family she received a global educational imprint in places like India, Singapore and Nigeria. On completion of Medical School in MGM, Mumbai University, India she dedicated two years to research in the field of Cancer Immunotherapy at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Her work was very well received and resulted in a number of publications in several peer reviewed journals. Dr Mendonca is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology and treats all forms of adult cancers with a key interest in solid tumors, including breast cancer. She has been a prominent advocate for the promotion of women's health, focusing on prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Dr. Mendonca's special interests are in delivering individualized care in a comprehensive and compassionate manner.
