Thomas Mitchell, MD, FACS, MHA

Thomas Mitchell, MD, FACS, MHA, is a surgical intensivist specializing in trauma, burn surgery and acute care surgery. He is dual board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care. Areas of expertise include acute trauma, thermal and electrical injuries; gall bladder, appendix and ventral hernia surgery; small bowel obstruction surgery; and tracheostomy/percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG). Dr. Mitchell takes advantage of the breadth of multidisciplinary care to achieve the highest quality of life for each patient. His approach is calming, friendly and direct.

Dr. Mitchell is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He served as a chief medical officer and general surgeon in the United States Army.

Away from work, Dr. Mitchell enjoys running, polo and riding horses.
