Growing up, I wanted to be an engineer and I got my bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Somewhere along the way, I discovered I was more interested in caring for people rather than inanimate machinery. I subsequently went to medical school and completed my residency in dermatology. I volunteer at local charity care clinics run by medical students. It is exceptionally rewarding to not only provide the underserved with dermatologic care but to see the new generations of medical students develop into budding young physicians. In my free time I enjoy traveling to new places and learning about other cultures.
My philosophy to patient care is to foster a physician-patient relationship based on mutual trust and respect. Every patient has different needs and expectations and my duty as a physician is to provide the best possible patient care within this context. I think medical care is best rendered when the relationship between patients and their physicians are collaborative when patients are actively involved in their own healthcare decisions.
