Mercy Hospice Mount Shasta

Mercy Hospice Mt. Shasta provides medical, emotional and spiritual care for terminally ill patients with a prognosis of six months or less. The goal is to enhance the quality of life, focusing on the individual and their family. As a licensed and certified hospice agency, Mercy Hospice meets state and federal requirements. Hospice services are covered by Medicare, Medi-Cal and most private insurance plans, with community support helping patients who are uninsured or unable to pay. The hospice team includes a medical director, dietitian, home health aide, physical therapist, registered nurse, social worker and spiritual care support coordinator, all dedicated to assisting patients and families. Most hospice care is provided at home, allowing patients to remain in familiar surroundings with professional caregivers and volunteers. For those without a caregiver, Mercy Hospice helps establish a caregiving plan. Follow-up bereavement support and support groups are also available for surviving family members and caregivers.
