Jill Welton, MSN

With more than 20 years of health care experience, Jill is an exceptional leader with demonstrated success in culture change, quality improvement and service line enhancement. Jill was named Market President of the Dignity Health Southern California Market in March 2024. She currently oversees six acute care hospitals in Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties with 10,000 employees and 2,000 physicians caring for more than 275,000 patients annually. 

Prior to her promotion as Market President, Jill served as Hospital President of Dignity Health – Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center from June 2018 - March 2024. Previously she served as Chief Operating Officer/Chief Nursing Officer at Dignity Health – St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco for six years. 

Jill is committed to improving the health of every community member and providing excellent and compassionate care to each patient. She is an advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion with a strong passion for leading change in health care by championing for racial justice, women’s equality and LGBTQ+ rights. Under her leadership, the hospitals in her market have been nationally recognized as LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leaders by the Human Rights Campaign.

She has been named An Influential Leader in Healthcare by the Los Angeles Business Journal and Top 200 Healthcare Executives by San Fernando Valley Business Journal. She also received Business Life’s Women’s Achievers Award. 

Jill earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Holy Names University in Oakland, California and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Hayward. She served as an emergency room nurse before shifting her focus to administrative leadership roles.
