Matt Grimshaw joined CHI Saint Joseph Health, a member of CommonSpirit, in December, 2024. He previously served as president of Trinity Health System in Steubenville, Ohio, a position he held from 2017 to 2024. Prior to joining Trinity Health System, Grimshaw served as the West Region President of CHI St. Alexius Health in Williston, North Dakota, for six years.
His extensive career, spanning over 15 years in leadership roles within various Catholic hospitals across the country, reflects a deep passion for delivering exceptional health care services to those in need. He brings a history of success in expanding care that impacts a region. During his time in Ohio, Grimshaw oversaw a period of unprecedented expansion for Trinity Health System, including a transformative $75 million expansion project, resulting in a state-of-the-art medical complex, and addressing critical needs in communities with a gap in health care services.
He is also keenly invested in cultivating future health care professionals. In Ohio, he championed the development of post-graduate medical education programs at Trinity, similar to efforts in Kentucky to partner with organizations that train and inspire young professionals.
Grimshaw holds an MBA from Wake Forest University and a bachelor's degree in finance from Indiana Wesleyan University. He and his wife, Dr. Annette Grimshaw, have three children. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys traveling with his family, prioritizing visits with friends around the world.
