LONDON, Ky. (September 25, 2026) – CommonSpirit – Saint Joseph Hospital – London announced the launch of teleneurology services in its emergency department and in-patient units. This service allows for patients to meet with neurologists virtually using wall-mounted telehealth monitors and mobile telehealth carts.
“This new service addresses an imperative need for our rural communities, allowing our patients to receive advanced neurological care when they need it, without having to travel further from home, family and obligations,”said John Yanes, President, CommonSpirit - Saint Joseph Hospital - London. “Being part of a large healthcare network as CommonSpirit is enabling us to grow and advance the services we provide in London to better care for our patients, especially with neurological conditions where time is a critical factor to successful treatment.”
Teleneurology services include a full range of general adult neurology care, including strokes, seizures and syncope. CommonSpirit Health is partnering with Eagle Teleneurology to provide this service to patients.
Shelley Bundy Stanko, MD, MBA, FACHE, FAAFP, Chief Medical Officer for CommonSpirit Health Physician Enterprise in Kentucky and Saint Joseph Hospital - London, called the addition of teleneurology “an advancement worth celebrating.”
“Now, when patients come to our ED with stroke-like symptoms, for example, we can provide emergency neurology consults. This service will also be used for consultations with in-patient daily rounding,” said Shelley.
