CommonSpirit Welcomes Mitchell West, PA-C, to Cardiology Practice

LEXINGTON, Ky. (September 24, 2026) – CommonSpirit Health has announced that Mitchell West, PA-C, has joined CommonSpirit Medical Group - Cardiology at Harrodsburg Road. West values delivering thoughtful care that ensures his patients feel heard and empowered.

“My patient care philosophy is grounded in compassion, respect and evidence-based medicine,” he said. “I strive to listen carefully to patients, understand their goals and concerns and engage them in shared decision-making.”

West brings a robust educational background to his practice. He earned his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of the Cumberlands. He completed a dual foundational study at the University of Kentucky, where he earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. This comprehensive academic preparation allows him to approach patient care with a strong understanding of both the biological and psychological factors influencing health and wellness.

West aims to deliver thoughtful, patient-centered care by combining clinical knowledge with empathy, clear communication and collaboration.

“The most rewarding part of being a provider is seeing patients improve and knowing that the care and support provided contributed to their recovery,” he said. “Guiding patients through health challenges and witnessing their progress as they regain stability is deeply fulfilling.”

Outside of work, West enjoys attending UK basketball and football games and spending time with his wife and daughters.
