Interventional Pulmonologist Dr. Amir Reihani Joins CommonSpirit

CHATTANOOGA, TN (October 6, 2026) – CommonSpirit Medical Group has added Amir Reihani, MD, MPH, to its staff at CommonSpirit Medical Group – -Interventional Pulmonology – Chattanooga. Dr. Reihani is a fellowship-trained interventional pulmonologist.

Interventional pulmonology involves the use of minimally invasive techniques, often performed through the natural airway without surgical incisions, to diagnose and treat lung, airway and pleural conditions. These procedures assist in the evaluation of lung nodules and masses, suspected or known lung cancer, enlarged lymph nodes, airway obstruction and other thoracic conditions.

“My goal is to build on the care already available here by providing another option for patients when advanced pulmonary expertise is needed,” Dr. Reihani said. “The best care comes from collaboration across pulmonology, thoracic surgery, oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, pathology and our many other partners, with the patient and family at the center.”

Dr. Reihani completed fellowship training in interventional pulmonology at The Ohio State University, following fellowship training in critical care medicine at Stony Brook University and pulmonary medicine at Eisenhower Health. He completed an internal medicine residency at a Yale-affiliated program in Connecticut and holds a Master of Public Health from George Washington University.

His clinical interests include advanced and robotic bronchoscopy, pulmonary nodule and lung cancer evaluation, therapeutic bronchoscopy for complex airway disease, pleural interventions and other minimally invasive approaches to thoracic disease. His background in pulmonary medicine, critical care, interventional pulmonology and public health focuses on early diagnosis, patient safety, shared decision-making and access to specialized care.
