Dr. James Brown Joins Saint Joseph Health Primary Care in London, KY

Meet Dr. James Brown, DO, the newest addition to Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care in London. Driven by personal experience, he offers authentic, patient-focused care to his Kentucky community.

LONDON, Ky. (March 5, 2026)Saint Joseph Health has announced that James Brown, DO, has joined Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care in London. Dr. Brown, a native of Pineville, said his decision to pursue medicine was shaped by his family and community.

“My grandma got really sick, and I was always a Mamaw’s boy,” Dr. Brown said. “There was a big variety in the care she got. Some were really great, while others were not as personable. I wanted to be able to provide the care for the people in southeastern Kentucky and relate to them on a personal level to give them the health care they need and deserve.”

Dr. Brown said he is passionate about serving his community and addressing the health challenges he has seen firsthand.

“I’m from southeastern Kentucky. My dad had an addiction to drugs and alcohol, like a lot of people in our area. That really reached out to me as a huge problem,” he said. “I just want to be able to help my people. Everybody is my family. I wanted to practice and take care of my people.”

Dr. Brown said he focuses on building authentic relationships with his patients.

“I’m just real with people. I try to be the most authentic version of myself,” Brown said. “I focus on the relationship before I even start dealing with their health care. Patients have to decide they want to make a change before there’s going to be a lasting change, and that’s where making it personal becomes so important in primary care.”

Dr. Brown earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2022. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in agricultural biotechnology and a Master of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Kentucky. He is completing his residency at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Dr. Brown is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Osteopathic Association, Tennessee Medical Association, Tennessee Osteopathic Medical Association, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Christian Medical and Dental Associations (CMDA).

Outside of medicine, Dr. Brown enjoys hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his wife and their two young sons.

Dr. Brown is accepting patients at 1025 Saint Joseph Lane, 2nd floor, in London. To make an appointment, call (606) 330-2377
