CHATTANOOGA, TN (November 21, 2025) - CommonSpirit Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Marijka Grey, MD, MBA, FACP, as president, physician enterprise for the Tennessee and Georgia market, effective November 10, 2025. Dr. Grey will play a pivotal role in leading the success of CommonSpirit Health’s physician enterprise across Tennessee and Georgia.
In this new capacity, Dr. Grey will partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical teams and leadership across both states to cultivate a unified clinical vision and strengthen the physician enterprise. Her responsibilities will encompass physician enterprise clinical quality and standards, operations, patient experience and both employee and provider engagement. Additionally, she will collaborate closely with population health leadership on strategic initiatives aimed at improving community well-being. Dr. Grey will also focus on expanding diverse provider services and networks, fostering aligned strategies that integrate medical groups, clinically integrated networks (CINs)/accountable care organizations (ACOs), and community physicians.
Dr. Grey brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of mission-driven leadership to this role. She is a collaborative physician leader with a robust background in operations and medical group leadership within complex, integrated health systems across diverse rural and urban settings. Her extensive local market health care leadership experience with CommonSpirit Health further strengthens her qualifications.
Previously, Dr. Grey served as president of CHI Memorial Medical Group, and chief medical officer of Mission Health Care Network, where she provided clinical executive oversight for CHI Memorial's Clinically Integrated Network and Accountable Care Organization. In these roles, she worked alongside the current physician enterprise president for Tennessee and Georgia, Glyn Hughes, who will retire January 1, 2026. Dr. Grey most recently held the position of system vice president of ambulatory transformation and innovation for CommonSpirit Health.
Beyond her administrative roles, Dr. Grey currently holds faculty positions at the Center for Primary Care, Harvard Medical School and Morehouse School of Medicine. She is an active board member for the American Medical Group Association (AMGA), the Catholic Health Association and the Tennessee Medical Association. Prior to her tenure with CommonSpirit Health, she led a group of more than 850 physicians and advanced practice providers at WellSpan Health in York, Pennsylvania. Locally, she led the Chattanooga-Hamilton Medical Society in 2021 as president and currently serves on its foundation board.
Dr. Grey earned her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, completed her residency in internal medicine at York Hospital and received her Master of Business Administration from Mount Saint Mary’s University.
