Saint Joseph Medical Group Welcomes New Member to London Cardiology Team

LONDON, Ky. (September 8, 2025) – Saint Joseph Medical Group is pleased to announce the addition of Syed Mustafa, MD, to its cardiology team in London. Dr. Mustafa is an interventional cardiologist whose clinical expertise and patient-centered approach further strengthen the hospital’s commitment to providing advanced cardiovascular care to the community.

Inspired by his father’s medical career, Dr. Mustafa developed a passion for health care early in life. During his residency, he discovered a deep calling to cardiology.

“I was drawn to cardiology because of the profound difference you can make in a patient’s life,” said Dr. Mustafa. “To help someone who comes to the hospital very sick, guide them through interventions and treatment, and then see them thriving at follow-up visits—that’s incredibly rewarding.”

Dr. Mustafa is thrilled to serve the London community and emphasizes compassionate, individualized care.

“I treat my patients as if they were my own family,” he said. “My goal is to combine medical expertise with careful listening, making sure every patient feels heard and supported in their journey toward better heart health.”

Dr. Mustafa holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Aga Khan University in Pakistan. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and served his residency in internal medicine at Oakland University William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He completed his training in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Adult Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Vascular Interpretation. 

Dr. Mustafa and his wife have recently made London their home, where much of their spare time is joyfully devoted to their infant son. Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling and looks forward to exploring the region and becoming part of the local community.
