LEXINGTON, Ky. (September 24, 2026) – CommonSpirit Health has announced that Emma Black, PA-C, has joined CommonSpirit Medical Group - Family Medicine in Lexington. Black prioritizes realistic, lifestyle-based solutions, while recognizing when medication is needed, always aiming to create treatment plans that truly fit a patient’s life.
“I believe patients deserve to feel heard, understood and treated as whole individuals, not just as a diagnosis,” she said. “I see my role in healthcare as both a patient advocate and coordinator. There is power in helping and treating what I can, recognizing when a patient needs more specialized care and coordinating the patient’s transition to that specialist.”
Her foundational education includes a Bachelor of Science in Human Health Studies from the University of Kentucky. She received a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant from Charleston Southern University. Emma is proficient in Spanish, equipped to serve a diverse patient population, and is certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support by the American Heart Association. Her commitment to patient communication is further highlighted by her working toward her certification as an English-Spanish medical translator.
Black wants to ensure her patients understand their care options and feel empowered to participate in decisions.
“The most rewarding part of being a provider is seeing how listening to a patient and prioritizing their needs can lead to improvement over time,” she said. “This is especially rewarding when a patient-centered plan leads to meaningful change in their health and quality of life.”
Outside the clinic, she enjoys hiking, traveling, piano, and watching football, embodying a holistic approach to life and care.
Black is accepting patients at CommonSpirit Health Medical Group - Primary Care located at 211 Fountain Court, Suite 340. To make an appointment, call (859) 263-1280.
