CHATTANOOGA, TN (October 6, 2026) - U.S. News and World Report has named CommonSpirit - Memorial Hospital- Chattanooga a Best Regional Hospital for the 12th consecutive year. The hospital is tied for the number three ranking in Tennessee and is the only Chattanooga-area facility included on the list. Of the 143 hospitals in the state, 10 met the standards required for this ranking. Additionally, Memorial Hospital earned the top ranking among hospitals in Chattanooga.
Memorial Hospital received high performing ratings in 12 categories for surgical procedures and chronic conditions. It is the only local hospital to achieve this rating for abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, colon cancer surgery, ear, nose and throat surgery, heart bypass surgery, leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, lung cancer surgery, pacemaker implantation, prostate cancer surgery, stroke and transcatheter aortic valve replacement. The hospital also received high performing ratings for back surgery and knee replacement.
Out of nearly 4,500 hospitals evaluated, 424 received the Best Regional Hospital designation. These rankings are based on factors such as clinical outcomes, nursing care and patient experience to help patients and doctors make informed health care decisions.
