Saint Joseph Health Welcomes Plastic Surgeon to its Team

LONDON, Ky. (Sept. 4, 2025) – Saint Joseph Medical Group in London, Kentucky, has welcomed Miriam Henry, MD, to its team. A specialist in plastic and hand surgery, Dr. Henry is dedicated to delivering advanced, high-quality surgical care close to home for Laurel County residents and is excited to expand access to these services for patients throughout the region.

Dr. Henry’s passion for science first sparked her interest in medicine, but it was during medical school that she discovered her calling in surgery. 

“With surgery, you see near-immediate results and can directly change the course of someone’s health. Plastic surgery is particularly intricate and allows me to care for patients from head to toe, which is very important to me. My goal is to help restore function and hope in situations where patients may feel helpless.”

Her philosophy centers on creating a personal connection with every patient and being approachable. “I try to be relatable to my patients and make them feel comfortable. I value meeting people where they are in their health journey, and tailor my approach to each patient.” 

Dr. Henry earned her bachelor’s degree in medical sciences from Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi, and her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. She completed a hand surgery fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and a plastic surgery residency at the University of Kentucky. 

When she’s not treating patients, Dr. Henry enjoys being outdoors, including gardening, hiking and spending time with her husband and their dog. 

“My family and I love the London area,” said Dr. Henry. “During my training in Lexington, I saw people from this area having to drive to get the treatment they need, and now with this practice, we’ll have an option closer to home for them, and I’m excited to serve this community.”
