BEREA, Ky. (December 15, 2025) – Saint Joseph Berea was recognized as one of the 747 hospitals across the United States that patients would recommend, according to Becker’s Hospital Review. Only 10 hospitals in Kentucky made the list.
Each year, the publication releases a list of hospitals patients would recommend in each state. These rankings are developed from official data by the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS). CMS created 10 HCAHPS star ratings based on publicly reported measures. The star rating is based on survey data collected during the 2024 calendar year.
“We are proud to receive this national recognition as a hospital patients would recommend,” said John Yanes, president of Saint Joseph Berea. “Our caregivers are committed to providing high quality care with humankindness. This recognition would not be possible without our dedicated team members at Saint Joseph Berea who understand that we are not just caring for patients; we are caring for our friends and neighbors throughout the community.”
This is just the latest award recognizing Saint Joseph Berea’s commitment to excellence. In December, it was recognized by Healthgrades, a leading resource consumers use when searching for a doctor or hospital. The hospital received a Five-Star rating for Treatment of Respiratory Failure two years in a row, and was also recognized this year as a Five-Star Recipient for Treatment of Sepsis.
