Saint Joseph Health Launches ‘Reserve a Spot’ for Emergency Room Care

LEXINGTON, Ky. (December 15, 2025) – Saint Joseph Health, including Saint Joseph East and Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Saint Joseph Jessamine in Nicholasville, and Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown, has recently launched a “Reserve a Spot” for emergency care across Kentucky. The online emergency room appointments aim to make unpredictable medical emergencies more predictable for patients.

“Saint Joseph Health is here when you need us the most,” said Missy Hicks, MBA, BSN, RN, market director of emergency services at Saint Joseph Hospital and Saint Joseph East in Lexington, Saint Joseph Jessamine in Nicholasville and Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. “The new ‘reserve a spot’ feature gives patients in central Kentucky more control of their health care, and reaffirms our mission of providing high quality, patient-centered care. While we consistently provide quick access to emergency providers, this new feature allows patients to schedule their visit to cut down wait time even more.” 

People experiencing serious, but not life-threatening symptoms may reserve a spot in the emergency room online. Visit commonspirit.org/find-a-location, select location, and click Emergency Room to find their nearest Saint Joseph hospital to reserve a spot. ER providers will do their best to see patients in the order they reserved, but they’ll need to attend to critical cases first. 

If you experience potentially life-threatening symptoms, such as chest pain or difficulty breathing, call 911 to get care as fast as possible.
