Saint Joseph Health Welcomes Cameron Scheitzach, PA-C

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 28, 2026) – Saint Joseph Health welcomes Cameron Scheitzach, PA-C, to its team at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Maternal-Fetal Medicine in Lexington. Scheitzach completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Kentucky in June, 2025.

She said her rotations with Magdalene Karon, MD, FACOG, opened her eyes to a love for caring for women with both complicated and uncomplicated pregnancies.

“I found such a passion for supporting and empowering women,” Scheitzach said. “I love supporting patients in one of the most meaningful times of their lives. Helping patients to navigate complex pregnancy is just a beautiful thing.”

Scheitzach had originally planned on going to veterinary school, but then she got hooked on Grey’s Anatomy, the TV medical drama. When she shadowed Katie Cranfill, who works in Saint Joseph Health facilities, Scheitzach was convinced of her career path.

A native of Orlando, Fla., Scheitzach was a member of the 2021 Division I National Championship volleyball team for the University of Kentucky, where she earned a BS in Education with a concentration in kinesiology. She completed multiple rotations within primary and specialty care in central and eastern Kentucky during her time in physician assistant studies.

“I believe in putting the patient at the center of all decisions,” she said. “Being open and communicating with the patient. You have multiple health care professionals on the team, but the patient has to be on that team, the lead decision-maker … always supporting and emplowering them to make the decisions they are most comfortable with.”

As a former student–athlete, Scheitzach and her fiance are big fans of the Kentucky Wildcats. She likes to spend her time with a good cup of coffee, immersed in a good book or deep and meaningful conversations with friends.
