Saint Joseph London Earns National Recognition With An ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade From The Leapfrog Group

Saint Joseph London Achieved an “A” Hospital Safety Grade From the Leapfrog Group, Recognizing Its Commitment to Patient Safety.

LONDON, Ky. (Nov. 13, 2025) – Saint Joseph London earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient care, during the fall grading period. This national distinction recognizes Saint Joseph London’s achievements in protecting patients from harm and error in the hospital.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.

“Our caregivers at Saint Joseph London place the safety and well-being of our patients above all else,” said John Yanes, president, Saint Joseph London. “We are pleased to again be recognized by The Leapfrog Group for our steadfast commitment to the high quality care our community expects from Saint Joseph London. We are proud of the dedication from our caregivers to this standard of excellence.”

Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

“Earning an ‘A’ Grade means Saint Joseph London made a true commitment to put patient safety first,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We congratulate the leadership, board, clinicians, staff and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement.”
