Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Receives $19,000 Grant from WHAS Crusade

MOUNT STERLING, Ky. (July 23, 2025) – The Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Foundation, on behalf of Saint Joseph Mount Sterling, has received $19,000 in funding from WHAS Crusade for Children to help improve the quality of care provided to Montgomery County’s youngest patients.

Saint Joseph Health – Outpatient Rehabilitation, which offers pediatric rehabilitation services, is one of only three rehabilitation clinics serving Montgomery County. In 2024, the clinic provided care through more than 6,000 pediatric therapy visits and currently maintains a waitlist of over 160 children. With support from the WHAS Crusade for Children, the clinic will be able to acquire essential materials and supplies, ensuring timely and effective treatment for pediatric patients and helping to meet the growing demand for specialized care in the region. The items will be utilized across three primary disciplines – occupational, physical and speech therapies – to ensure that the clinic has a comprehensive set of resources tailored to each child’s specific needs.

“This generous support from the WHAS Crusade for Children helps us provide the very best start for the children in our care,” said John Yanes, FACHE, CPPS, president of Saint Joseph Mount Sterling. “Every child deserves access to compassionate, high-quality care, and this funding ensures Saint Joseph Mount Sterling has the essential tools and resources needed to support their healing and growth.”

This grant represents a continued partnership between the two organizations to improve health outcomes for pediatric patients and provide critical support to local families.

“We are honored to support Saint Joseph Mount Sterling and its dedication to caring for the most vulnerable patients – our children,” said Dawn Lee, president and CEO, WHAS Crusade for Children. “Our mission is to help ensure that every child receives the high-quality, personalized care they need to thrive, and we’re proud to partner with a hospital that shares that commitment.”
