Saint Joseph Health – Sleep Care Center in Lexington Welcomes Nurse Practitioner

Donna Crockett brings 15 years of nursing experience

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 18, 2025) – Saint Joseph Health – Sleep Care Center in Lexington has welcomed Donna Crockett, MSN, APRN, NP-C, to its team. Crockett, a board-certified family nurse practitioner, was inspired to pursue a career in medicine as a teenager while witnessing her grandfather's battle with cancer.

“The complexities of navigating the health care system deeply moved me,” said Crockett. “That experience, and the individuals I met during that challenging period, ignited a desire for a career dedicated to healing others. I have worked as a registered nurse for the past 15 years, advocating for my patients, and I realized that completing my nurse practitioner degree was the most effective way to further this commitment.”

Crockett describes her care philosophy as rooted in compassion and connection, with a focus on patient-centered care. “I value the opportunity to interact with patients personally – it's a privilege to not only understand their medical needs better, but also to connect with them as individuals, which allows me to establish a sense of trust and partnership that is essential for effective care. Witnessing their progress and ultimately celebrating their achievements is incredibly rewarding.”

Crockett earned her Associate of Science in nursing from Morehead State University and both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University. She has worked in nursing since 2010, including her tenure with Saint Joseph East since 2012, where she has served in the emergency department, surgery department and sleep medicine department.

“While I've worked in various nursing settings, my focus for the past eight years has been in sleep medicine. Through this work, I've come to understand the critical importance of sleep to overall health, and my love for sleep medicine has grown immensely. From the onset of my nurse practitioner journey, I knew I wanted to remain in this specialized field – it's very rewarding, and I've found my passion.”

Outside of work, Crockett enjoys spending time with her family, as well as reading, traveling and being outdoors..

Crockett is now accepting patients at Saint Joseph Health – Sleep Care Center, located at 160 N. Eagle Creek Drive, Suite 302, in Lexington. To make an appointment, call 859-967-5044.
