St. Luke's Health Opens Community Health Grant Applications

St. Luke's Health invites nonprofits to apply for grants addressing critical health needs: access to care, chronic disease and mental health in our communities.

HOUSTON, TX (July 20, 2026) – St. Luke’s Health, a member of CommonSpirit Health, is pleased to announce it is accepting applications for the 2027 CommonSpirit Health Community Health Improvement Grants. This initiative provides philanthropic support to local non-profit organizations dedicated to improving community health and advancing health equity.

The application window is open from July 20 through September 18, 2026. Grantees will be notified in January 2027, with projects scheduled to run from April 2027 to March 2028.

Grant proposals should align with key needs identified in St. Luke’s Health’s most recent Community Health Needs Assessment. Priorities for funding include:

  • Access to healthcare

  • Heart disease and stroke

  • Cancer

  • Mental health

  • Social drivers of health

"We are consistently inspired by the impactful work of non-profit organizations in our communities," said Fawn Preuss, Regional Director for Community Health & Benefits for CommonSpirit Health. "These grants foster critical partnerships, enabling us to collaboratively address pressing health disparities and create sustainable change. We encourage both established and emerging organizations whose missions align with our priorities to apply."

For grants exceeding $20,000, applications must include at least two collaborating partner organizations. While encouraged for smaller grants, partnerships are not required for awards under this threshold.
