Three CommonSpirit Hospitals Named Top Cardiovascular Centers

Three CommonSpirit hospitals earn spots on Modern Healthcare’s 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals list, recognized for excellent outcomes, efficiency and patient care.

Three CommonSpirit Health hospitals were recently named on Modern Healthcare’s 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals. CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee and CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, Arkansas both made the list in the ”Top Teaching Hospital without a cardiovascular residency” category, and CHI Health Nebraska Heart in Lincoln, Nebraska ranked among the top community hospitals.

The rankings, powered by Premier, Inc., were made using 21 measures, including clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, extended outcomes, and patient experience. The rankings are based on an annual study of publicly reported  data that aims to identify hospitals demonstrating the highest performance in hospital cardiovascular services for four patient groups: acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, coronary artery bypass graft and percutaneous coronary intervention.

“Cardiovascular care is one of the most complex and impactful service lines in health care,” said David Zito, President of Performance Services at Premier. “The 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals program highlights organizations delivering strong outcomes while providing hospital leaders with meaningful benchmarks to help improve care.”

“Congratulations to the hardworking cardiovascular physicians and teams at our three ranked hospitals,” said Nezar Falluji, MD, System Physician Vice President of CommonSpirit Health’s National Cardiovascular Service Line. “They’re driven to improve their quality and outcomes and they’re dedicated to pushing towards excellence. This recognition is well-deserved.”
