At St. Luke’s Health – The Vintage Hospital, there’s a quiet force, a radiant presence, who embodies the very essence of humankindness.
Meet Linda McCrosky, Executive Assistant, a woman whose daily dedication and unwavering empathy make her not just a vital part in the hospital’s operations, but its very heartbeat.
Spend a few minutes with Linda, and it’s immediately clear why her colleagues affectionately call her the “energizer bunny.” Her role, as she describes it, is a dynamic tapestry woven with countless threads of support, collaboration and heartfelt connection.
“Every day is different,” Linda muses, a smile in her voice. “Being a smaller hospital, I wear so many hats. It’s all about collaboration and figuring out where I can best help.”
Indeed, Linda is involved in nearly every facet of hospital life. She technically supports Elizabeth Ortega and Mohsin Kalim Bajwa, MD but her reach extends far beyond. She chairs the employee engagement committee, manages vital contracts, and somehow, amidst it all, knows nearly everyone in the hospital by name. “Relationships and connections are so important to me,” she emphasizes. “I want everyone to know Administration is there for them.”
This deep-seated desire to serve is a thread running through Linda's entire career journey. Her path to executive assistant, a role she's held for three years, is a testament to her dedication and a testament to truly understanding the fabric of a hospital. Starting as a patient care assistant/health unit coordinator, she moved to staffing coordinator, meticulously crafting inpatient schedules before ascending to her current position. “I’ve seen the hospital from various vantage points and roles,” she explains. “I understand how patients are feeling. It’s helped me understand the foundation of the hospital facility – I know the ins and outs.”
Before joining The Vintage, Linda was a stay-at-home mom, a chapter in her life that, while fulfilling, also ignited a thirst for personal growth. She went back to school when her children were young, earning her BBA in 2018 and an MBA in 2025. This commitment to lifelong learning, coupled with her varied experiences, has equipped her with a unique perspective, making her an invaluable asset to the leadership team and frontline staff alike.
When asked about her favorite part of the job, Linda's answer is immediate and heartfelt: “Serving others. It makes me feel good to make someone else’s issues smaller or solve their problems.” For Linda, every interaction is a chance to make a difference, even from behind the scenes. Her efforts, often unseen, directly contribute to positive patient outcomes, a realization that fuels her daily. “It’s a constant opportunity to make a difference and serve others,” she says.
Linda's success isn't by chance. It stems from a potent combination of innate qualities and cultivated skills. “I show up and go above and beyond each and every day,” she states simply, yet profoundly. She's a natural problem-solver, always seeking solutions and answers, and known for her ability to remain calm amidst the storm. “I try to be calm while other people may feel stressed,” she explains. “I approach challenges with solutions and a focused mindset.” Her exceptional organization, adaptability, strong communication skills and genuine empathy make her the ideal person to support hospital leadership and act as a cohesive force for the entire staff.
When asked about a mantra she lives by, Linda shares, "Count your blessings. Others wish they could be in your shoes." She also draws inspiration from 1 Corinthians 16:14, "Let all that you do be done in love." These aren't just words on a page for Linda; they are guiding principles that shape her every interaction. “I believe in leading with compassion and kindness,” she says. “I make a conscious effort to pause and respond with kindness, patience and understanding rather than reacting in the moment.” This intentionality fosters an environment where colleagues feel respected, supported and truly valued.
