Dr. Baraa Al-Hafez is an experienced, board-certified neurosurgeon with additional specialized fellowship training in disorders of the spine. Dr. Al-Hafez earned his medical degree from Tichreen University ' Syria. He then completed his residency in neurosurgery at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by a spine fellowship at the University of Texas at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, TX. After practicing in Houston for five years at Memorial Hermann and in private practice, Dr. Al-Hafez moved to Lufkin to practice with the Baylor St. Luke's Medical Group. He currently practices at St. Luke's Health Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Al-Hafez prides himself on his ability to listen to his patients and engage with them to help them make informed, careful decisions about their neurosurgical conditions. Dr. Al-Hafez lives in Lufkin, TX and in his free time he enjoys swimming, soccer, going to the theater and volunteering.
