Joshua Nelson, MD

Dr. Nelson specializes in Microsurgery with expertise in DIEP (Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator) flap surgery. He has special interest in breast reconstruction, facial fractures, advanced wound care and orthopedic trauma reconstruction.With a Bachelor's degree in Zoology from University of Wisconsin – Madison, Dr. Nelson went on to complete his Medical Doctorate from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed an integrated plastic surgery residency at Michigan State University – Spectrum Health, and a fellowship in breast and microsurgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, NY.Dr. Nelson has published articles on complex wound care, mucormycosis and facial fractures. He has presented at conferences and grand rounds on a broad range of topics, including use of autologous tissue for breast reconstruction.

Having a good relationship with his patients is pivotal to Dr. Nelson. A doctor-patient relationship needs to be reliable, empathetic and long-term. I care about my patients. I will make the time to ensure they are cared for properly, and I have a vested interest in helping them go on to live a happy and fulfilling life.
