Marla Vogt-Roberts, CNM

I have been a Nurse-Midwife for over 20 years. I have only worked in physician-owned or hospital-owned birth centers or hopsitals here in Arizona and in Michigan. I earned my certificate of Midwifery from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in Hyden, Kentucky. This is the first school to educate midwives in the US opening in 1939. I graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Nursing from Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. I provide care to women of all ages. I She specialize in, but am not limited to, the following services and procedures: Well Woman GYN visits for routine annual exams including pap smears, mammograms, lab tests, birth control and hormone replacement therapy. Infection testing for UTIs and STDs. Birth control counseling for diaphragms, IUDs, Nexplanon and referrals for Tubal Ligation or Essure. Management of abnormal pap smears. Screening and treatment of vaginal infections. Assessment and treatment of abnormal periods. Assessment and treatment of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Prenatal Care. Labor and delivery care with consideration for your preferences for a natural birth or one with medication. Postpartum Care. I have a belief that we as providers need to affirm the power and strength of women. Midwives view pregnancy, labor and birth as natural processes. Midwives use scientific evidence to support women in physiologic, normal birth. I support and encourage this physiologic process through education, nutrition and exercise in pregnancy. In labor I may encourage movement and positioning. The use of water for labor support, essential oils and massage, skin to skin contact with your baby after birth and delayed cord clamping depend on your birth preferences. I can order pain medications and epidurals. Many women choose care with a midwife because they want personal care and attention. At East Valley Women's Midwifery Group, I will take the time to get to know you as an individual. Personalized care and support throughout the entire pregnancy is one of the hallmarks of my care. I have office hours in Mesa at the Mountain Vista Medical Center Medical Office Building location or in our Queen Creek location. Please call the office phone number (480-632-2004) to make an appointment. Same day appointments are available.

I view us as partners in your healthcare. I inform you all abnormal lab and imaging results and explain what they might mean. I would give a plan for what the next step would be and any options available. I fully support your right to make decisions about your treatment plan.
