Wael Youssef, MD

Dr. Youssef is a board certified, fellowship trained medical doctor serving the Dignity Health Medical Group in the Department of Gastroenterology. 

He specializes in pancreatic and biliary diseases including: fragmentation and removal of large biliary stones draining pancreatic pseudocysts, early diagnosis of gastrointestinal cancer utilizing endoscopic ultrasound fine needle aspiration palliative stenting. endoscopic management utilizing non-invasive, minimally-invasive techniques to remove precancerous/cancerous tumors of the esophagus, stomach and colon. 

Dr. Youssef works in a multidisciplinary team including Oncology, surgical oncology and Bariatrics. He is an American Board of Internal Medicine Certified, and American Board of Medical Specialties, Certified in Gastroenterology. Meanwhile, he is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Gastroenterology. Additionally, he was selected as one of Consumers' Research Council of America: Guide to America's Top Physicians 2003, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014. He was also nominated for the 2016 physician of the year, physician leadership, rising star physician excellence, and patient care choice awards. He earned his Doctor of Medicine with honors from Faculty of Medicine Cario University, Egypt. He completed Internship at Cario University Hospital, Egypt. Master's Degree in Medical Management (MBA health care management) presented by American College of Physician Executives in association with University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at MetroHealth Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. He completed a Fellowship in Geriatrics, MetroHealth Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio and a second Fellowship in Gastroenterology, MetroHealth Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. In addition, an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship (ERCP/EUS), Henry Ford Health System, Detroit, Michigan.
