I believe the best psychiatric care begins with listening. Every patient has a unique story, and I strive to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where patients feel comfortable sharing their concerns and feel genuinely heard.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based. With my background in both dermatology and psychiatry, I have a particular appreciation for the close connection between the mind and body and the many biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors that influence well-being.
I work together with each patient to develop an individualized treatment plan that reflects their needs, values, and goals. This may include psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, medication, or a combination of approaches. My goal is not only to relieve symptoms but also to help patients improve their overall quality of life and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling future.
The most rewarding part of being a provider is having the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. In psychiatry, patients often come to us during some of their most difficult and vulnerable moments. It is deeply rewarding to build trust, understand each patient’s unique story, and work together toward recovery and a better quality of life.Xiaofeng Yan, MD
