We accept most insurance plans, which often require a copay for ER visits. If you’re uninsured, we’ll provide care regardless of your ability to pay and help you explore financial assistance options.
Insurance acceptedThe ER is for serious or life-threatening conditions like chest pain, stroke symptoms, difficulty breathing, severe injuries or uncontrollable bleeding. For less severe issues like minor cuts, sprains or colds, urgent care may be more appropriate.
If you experience any life-threatening symptoms, a trip to the emergency room is necessary. These include:
If you think you may be experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911 immediately. You may request that the ambulance take you to a St. Luke’s Health emergency
No appointment is needed; our ER is open 24/7 to provide care whenever an emergency arises.
Your health and time are our top priorities. From the moment you arrive, you’ll speak with a nurse who will assess your needs and ensure you receive the most appropriate care quickly. After treatment, our nurses will walk you through your discharge instructions and answer any questions, streamlining the process so you can return home sooner.
Admission depends on your condition. Many patients are treated and discharged, while others may require further care and hospitalization. If you need to be admitted to the hospital, your medical records will be immediately available to any of our health care providers who will be taking care of you.
St. Luke’s Health offers an online patient record request tool, which is easy to use and free. If you prefer to pick up your medical records in person, you must complete a medical authorization form and bring it or mail it to The Woodlands Hospital.
