Frequently asked questions

Most tests do not require an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome during our regular business hours.

Please bring your insurance card, a valid photo ID and your doctor's order for your tests.

Certain blood tests (for example, glucose or lipid) require fasting for accurate results. If ordered, do not eat or drink anything except clear water for 12 to 14 hours beforehand (no coffee or juice). Continue taking medications as prescribed. If fasting instructions aren't followed, results may be inaccurate or delayed. Always check with your doctor if you're unsure.

What you eat and drink can impact the accuracy of some test results, so we recommend rescheduling your blood draw if you were instructed to fast but did not.

Many tests do require a physician’s order. However, we also offer a variety of self-referral (direct-access) lab tests that do not require a doctor's order. These allow you to take a proactive role in your health by choosing select tests based on your needs.

You can typically view your test results through your patient portal. However, we always recommend discussing your results directly with your health care provider. They can best explain what your test results mean for your health.

Many standard blood and urine tests are covered by insurance. We recommend checking with your insurance provider for specific coverage details.
